This post is in partnership with JORD watches. We received a watch in exchange for an honest blog post. We stand by everything we write and are truly excited to share this product with you, our readers!
I gave Nick unique wood as an early Valentine’s Day gift — one to help him reach his 2018 goals.
Sounds weird, right?
As the handyman of this duo, I thought it would be a creative way to show him I love him AND support him. But we’re not talking about common pine boards or 2x4s. I gave him a unique wooden watch. A Zebrawood and Sandalwood watch.
New Year, New Nick
Nick made it a priority this year to work on calendar blocking. He wants to maximize his productivity so he can stay focused on his bigger life goals. He started this self-improvement journey last summer and his biggest struggle has been managing his time. Scheduling every hour of his day.
We’re big fans of The One Thing book and companion podcast. It’s all about helping you accomplish bigger goals in life. They preach focusing on just one thing for 66 days to create a habit. But finding what your one thing is … the one thing that, by doing it, will make everything else easier or unnecessary … is super hard.
After a lot of soul-searching, Nick knew that his one thing was getting a grip on his schedule. Now, his focus is to block out every single hour of his day, starting with the priorities.
It’s easy to make a to-do list. But Nick is learning that, until you plug that to-do list into actual time on your calendar, you might be setting yourself up for failure … which can lead to anxiety. And I’m the first one to get annoyed when he doesn’t have enough time to finish a project. But clearly, my eye-rolls aren’t what he needs.
Aye yi yi.
So, let’s just stop there. Nick’s got this.
Goals Are Better With Gifts
To make time blocking and tracking easier, I found the perfect gift.
Nick’s obsessed with watches, but he doesn’t have one that he can wear every day. So, I was on the hunt for something unique. Something that is totally “him.”
That’s when I found this wood watch from JORD. For real, you guys have to see it. If you’re like us and are obsessed with wood planked walls, unique wood furniture, and wall moldings, then this wood watch is going to be right up your alley.
You know us, we hate matchy-matchy.
I know we have our phones to check the time, but this gift is a reminder that time is precious. I’m hoping it’ll keep him focused and motivated.
Who Knew a Unique Wood Watch Would Make Me Wife of the Year?!
Nick was shocked when he opened his gift — in a good way!
He. Loves. This. Watch.
I totally nailed Valentine’s Day this year (and early, at that!). But more importantly, Nick knows that I support him on his self-improvement journey.
Plus, here’s hoping I’m off the hook for making V-Day dinner plans. 🙂
WATCH Out World
(… see what I did there?)
He’s got big plans this year. He wants to flip another property, play more golf, read a book a month, and meditate every day. His dedication to his growth continues to astound me.
Not sure how I got so lucky to have such a dedicated business and life partner, but I do know that 2018 is going to be our best year yet.
